Hi Everyone!
We have a guest speaker for tonight's Math Club meeting, Dr. Rusnak! The presentation will be from 7-8pm in DERR 120, and the abstract for the talk is below.
Hope to see everyone there,

ABSTRACT: A matroid is a combinatorial object that generalizes the concept of vector arrangements. We will examine the various crytomorphic ways to define a matroid as well as their various models to help understand the many complex layers of a matroid. Focus will be on relating vector arrangements and graphs, and investigating generalizations of "graph-like" matroids to model a larger family of previously un-modeled matroids.
